Most places sell weekly Travelcards loaded onto a plastic Oyster card. From Monday 27 September , your fare on an Oyster card will automatically cap at the weekly Travelcard fare this is already available on a contactless cards.

The cap starts on Monday and ends Sunday, so it mainly benefits Londoners or those working in London. See all prices for weekly Travelcards for all other zones 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. For longer stays in London, monthly Travelcards are available. Like the weekly Travelcard, it can start on any day of the week and is valid for travel at any time.

See the prices of monthly Travelcards for all other zones 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Travelcards are available from all underground station ticket machines all underground tickets offices are now closed. The busier stations in central London have staff to help you use the machines.

Travelcards are also available from Oyster ticket stops. These are newsagents and local shops licensed to sell London transport tickets and Oyster cards. One Day Travelcards are not available from Oyster ticket stops.

Weekly and monthly Travelcards from a train station need a photo card. Just give them a photo of yourself, so they can make one up for you. If you buy a Travelcard from a train station, you can claim 2 for 1 discounts at London attractions. If you buy a weekly or monthly Travelcard from a London Overground station it is issued on an Oyster card. These are not valid for the 2 for 1 deals. Find the closest underground or train station to your accommodation. Then find the zone of the station you want to travel to.

For example:. There may be occasions when you need to travel outside the zones on your weekly or monthly Travelcard. The procedure is slightly different if you have a Travelcard loaded on an Oyster card, or a paper Travelcard:. If you already have a weekly Travelcard for certain zones and want to visit a place outside that zone, top-up your Oyster card with some Pay as you go money to cover the cost of travelling between the last zone on your Travelcard and the zone you want to visit.

For example, if you have a zone weekly Travelcard and you want to visit Richmond in zone 4, you need to add extra money to your Oyster to cover the fare for zones 3 and 4.

See Oyster single fares to find a fare. You can add extra money to your Oyster card at a tube station ticket machine. If you have a paper version of the Travelcard, you need to buy an extension ticket from the underground station ticket machine. Some stations are on the border of two zones.

These stations have a white box around their name on the tube map. Tickets to these stations are slightly different.
