Overdue Books - There is an all time high of overdue books at the moment! Please check at home for any books that need to be returned to the school Library.

Book Fair - Week 7 - Book Fair will be set up next week for students to preview, before they are given the opportunity to purchase in Week 7. They will bring home a wishlist from the Book Fair next week. Sadly, again, this year we are not allowed parents onsite, however there will be pictures of items posted onto the school Facebook page as well as being emailed through the PLN.

Dress Up Day will be Wednesday 25th August. Students are asked to dress up as their favourite book character or something in line with the theme - Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds. This is the week that we celebrate everything books! Mrs Siobhan Vitnell - Teacher Librarian.

Lost Property - Items that are found not labelled are brought to the office and placed in our lost property areas. Please label all your childs belongings and we can then assist by returning them directly to the students concerned.

It is very important that we keep all our student health care plans up to date to ensure that we are aware of what procedures to follow should your child have an asthma attack, an allergic reaction or other health condition where, appropriate action needs to be taken. If your child has a health condition, please ensure that we have an up to date Individual Health Care plan signed by the doctor.

If you need assistance with this matter please do not hesitate to contact the school office. Many thanks for your co-operation in keeping your children safe. LL is made up of students from Year 2 through to Year 6. We feel lucky to have such a great team working collaboratively for our class.

Learning about our feelings and emotions is an important part of our classroom. In LL we are using the Zones of Regulation, a program designed to support students in identifying their feelings, understanding how behaviour impacts themselves and others. It also teaches students problem solving skills and helps them to discover what tools they can use to regulate their Zones.

This is embedded across our all learning areas. As the term continues, we will investigate Earth's place in the universe and learn about the surrounding planets. During our lessons we integrate the use of technology using our school iPads. Students love using the Jamboard program to add their own 'post it notes' to record their answers and demonstrate their knowledge.

This term in LL students have been creating intricate and eye-catching artworks during computer lessons. They have learnt to use various online drawing programs and created some amazing images. Students will continue to create computer artworks learning to use Sketchpad to illustrate their poetry they have begun writing.

Students are writing their own poems using various poetic devices they have learnt in English. Later this term students will look at songs and lyrics as a form of poetry. One of the class's favourite times has to be our cooking lessons each Friday. Students combine skills in Maths, English, and Life Skills to follow visual recipes to cook simple meals each week. We have hopped on a plane and jetted off to explore the cultures and wonders of the continent of Asia.
