Hunan chinese restaurant los angeles

You have to be very pushy, and almost rude on the phone when you order. Then she will treat you like a king. She just hates wimpy people. So good luck, and enjoy! Don't ever attempt to get food from this place. I ordered take-out, waited the 30 mins they said, drove across weho to get there, only to be made to wait another 10 mins while the owner ran around in the kitchen, then was told that they hadn't even begun to cook my order and, ""How bout you come nother 'night?

We busy"". She honestly told me to just come another time because they were too ""busy"" with two tables seated. I didn't even say anything I was so shocked and then she just walked away. I will never go near this hole again. Filthy also. I have to say, a few months ago I would have totally agreed with the other reviewers - when I first discovered this place I was thrilled.

But the past few times I've gotten take-out from Hunan Cafe the food has been sub-par. Inedible, even.

In fact, I ended up trashing the last meal I ordered from them. That's my plan. THis place truly has the very best chinese food. All the food is fresh and you can tell in its taste.

I spoke to the owner and the place is so small that they don't have freezer space to keep food in bulk so they actually go and pick up fresh meats and vegetables each morning before they open the restaurant. The fried rice is the best because they make it fresh when you order it and it' s not heavily laden with soy sauce and salt.

The string beans are legendary! The owner was a sweet as can be to us and I wish I could have brought her home with me! However, the food was so amazing that I would have put up with any rudeness and long wait just to eat.

This is definitely the place to eat if you can appreciate good authentic chinese food. This dingy place ranks one of the tops and I can't explain why. Service, I warn you, could be horrible and I still go there often. The chef, who is the husband of the ""Soup Nazzi"" kind of a lady-waitress, used to work for a top Chinese restaurant in NYC - and the way he looks, he may not be cooking much longer -- so it's vital that I get his food now.

I actually offered her to open up a restaurant in the westside, but they told me they don't want to work that hard. I just want to steal their recipe. General's Chicken is amazing and so is the Beef with Orange Sauce. If you're black, Asian, or gay you get a better treatment. Get used to it. Rude service, the woman which I think is the owner never took our order, after 15 minutes I came up to the counter and she said I am not allowed up here and I needed to sit back down and wait for her because she is very busy.

She came to our table and asked my husband I to move for 4 customers who walked in after us. After another 15 minutes of waiting she finally said she that dinner would take 45 minutes!!! How rude!!! Yet, as we were walking out she happily took the order of the party of four who came in after us!!! I will never go back there ever!!! First of all, this place is one of the few remaining authentic ""Ma and Pa shops"" left in the culinary challenged and over-priced city of LA.

Second, be respectful and the so-called ""SoupNazi"" will be the most adorable and welcoming Chinese host you will ever have. She loves me because I respect their high quality food service provided at a very reasonable price - it's that simple.

Last, but not least, shut up and eat great, authentic Chinese food. My cousin was in town so I took him there for his first experience. He asked Regina if they put bell peppers in their Kung Pao Chicken. I almost choked on my spring roll and by the look on her face; I knew what was coming next. Thankfully, I was there to calm her down.

For those of you that don't know, asking a culinary proficient Chinese lady if her Kung Pao Chicken contains bell peppers is like asking someone in Chicago to put ketchup on a Chitown hot dog or putting rice in an authentic Mexican burrito.

It's just crazy. I will continue to enjoy this neighborhood treasure but unfortunately, must keep my cousin away for awhile.

I've been going to this place for years and I have had my ups and downs. I stopped going for a while because Regina, the owner, has moments of incredible rudeness that can leave you with your mouth open. On other days, she can be the most adoreable lady. I really think its not her fault. I think she is just bipolar. Her husband is a complete doll and amazing cook! Steamed Shrimp with Asparagus Steamed shrimp with fresh asparagus.

It's all you can eat. The best Chinese food. Delivery takes awhile cause they r always busy but food is very good. A few years ago I spent five months traveling in China. When I stepped into Hop Louie's and ate their delicious food - it felt as though I had….

Great Chinese food and cheap prices! They have affordable lunch specials, Monday-Sunday. They've been in business for several years in Atwater…. Master Chef was started by one of the former chef's of Full House that's just down the street.

It has a lot of the standard items you see on most…. Delicious and unique. I think the name is creative and if you visit this restaurant you will understand why I say it is uniquely decorated. Great little neighborhood place. I love to eat in or have it delivered. Friendly place and the best brown rice. We love all the noodle dishes. This is our favorite Chinese in West LA! Whenever we can't decide where to go, Hop Woo gets everyone's yes-votes. Very authentic chinese food I…. This place opens early and has very traditional and delicious Cantonese dim sum.

The price is reasonable and it has a big parking lot behind it. We eat here a few times a year. It's moderately fancy Chinese food but the quality is always good.
